Hull City's Ahmed Elmohamady could be recalled from his loan spell by parent club Sunderland this winter, manager Martin O'Neill revealed. The Egypt international has been at the KC Stadium since last summer and is expected to see out the remainder of the season at the Championship club. However, coach O'Neill admitted that if the Black Cats couldn't add new players to their depleted roster this January, Elmo could be making an emergency return. “I've also talked to Steve Bruce about Ahmed Elmohamady's situation. I'm just going to have to see how that develops," he told the Sunderland Echo. “And it might be that if we have been unable to add the players I was hoping to add in this window, then we might have to recall Elmohamady. “Hull keeping Elmohamady long-term is something that has not been discussed up to this point between ourselves and them. “But we have raised the point with them that if can't get players in, he might have to return." Elmohamady's potential exit could prove a major blow to promotion hopefuls Hull, who have been heavily relying on the Egyptian as a first-choice full-back. The Tigers have been doing well in the Championship so far, finishing 2012 in second place behind Cardiff.
