Just a couple of days before the end of the transfer window, Egypt winger Ahmed Elmohamady has joined England Championship side Hull City. "Winger Ahmed Elmohamady has joined Npower Championship side Hull City on a season-long loan," a statement read on the club's official website on Thursday. The 24-year-old will join his mentor and previous coach at Sunderland, Steve Bruce, who brought him to the Premier League in August 2010 from Egyptian Premier League side ENPPI. Elmohamady – who made 60 appearances for Sunderland, scoring one goal – had been playing regularly at Sunderland but his fortunes turned around when current boss Martin O'Neill took over. The Egyptian international was dropped from the Black Cats' lineup last season and figured only as a substitute at Arsenal on the opening day of the season. Bruce had been targeting Elmohamady to strengthen Hull City's midfield and hoped he could clinch another deal before the transfer window closes. The two-time Africa Cup of Nations winner, 2008 and 2010, is expected to find a familiar environment not only because of Bruce but also because of Egyptian businessperson Assem Allam who is the club's owner.
