Egyptian film wins Bronze award in Carthage festival Egyptian film 'Going Out to Morning' by director Hala Lotfy wins the Bronze award in the Carthage Film Festival in Tunisia
The selection committee of the TunisianCarthage Film Festival awarded Egyptian film Coming Forth by Day by director Hala Lotfy the bronze medal at the Cartage Film Festival at the closing ceremony on 24 November. The film, written and directed by Lotfy, tells the story of two women as they take care of their sick man, diving into topics relating to submission and the human body. The film is Lotfy's first feature film after a career in documentary filmmaking both independently and through Al Jazeera. The gold medal went to feature film The Canoe by Moussa Toure from Senegal, while the silver medal was awarded to Moroccan director Faouzi Bensaïdi for Death for Sale. The Carthage Film Festival has been hosted in Tunisia since 1966 and this year was held between 16 - 24 November. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/59107.aspx
