Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry affirmed to his Israeli counterpart, Yair Lapid, on Sunday the need to move urgently towards breaking the current stalemate between the Palestinians and Israel. The meeting came on the sidelines of Shoukry's current visit to Brussels to deliver a message from Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to European Council President Charles Michel. During the meeting, Shoukry affirmed the need to launch fair and comprehensive peace negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides. The top Egyptian diplomat is also scheduled to have bilateral meetings with a number of senior officials at the European Commission to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues of mutual interest.
