Egypt reported 711 new coronavirus cases on Saturday, bringing the total infection tally to 272,491 since the outbreak began in February 2020. The health ministry also reported 35 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 15,582. As many as 433 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 200,273. Since early June, Egypt has been recording single-day tolls of coronavirus cases below the 1,000-mark. The pandemic's third wave, which started to hit the country in April, is receding, Health Minister Hala Zayed said on Tuesday. She added that the occupancy rates at isolation hospitals nationwide are in a downward curve.
