Egypt detects 841 new coronavirus cases; 42 deaths on Friday

Egypt detected 841 new coronavirus cases on Friday, bringing total infections nationwide since the outbreak of the pandemic last year to 214,639 cases.
The health ministry reported 42 deaths, bringing total fatalities from the virus to 12,653.
700 patients have been discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours, bringing total recoveries to 162,170.
The rise in daily reported infections came despite of the government's warning to citizens to adhere to preventive measures during the fasting month of Ramadan.
Egypt has urged citizens against family gatherings and other popular rituals during the month to stem the spread of infections.
