Zamalek's 'great history' no worry for Maghreb Fez In the run up to the Champions League round of 16, Maghreb Fez general manager Mohamed El-Nousseri says his side respects Zamalek's successes but insists that they do not fear the Egyptian giants
Few days before their anticipated Champions League clash against Zamalek, Maghreb Fez General Manager Mohamed El-Nousseri insisted his side do not fear the five-time African champions despite their pedigree. The Moroccan outfit will host Zamalek in the first leg of the competition's round of 16 later this month as both sides vie for a place at the eight-team group stage. ''Zamalek is a great team which has a great history, but we don't fear them. Saying that our players consider the match to be difficult is completely false,'' El-Nousseri said in an interview Wednesday with Egyptian Melody satellite sports channel. ''We look to make a history in the continentafter our recent triumphs,'' he added. Maghreb Fez clinched their first-ever continental title last year when they lifted the Confederation Cup trophy before winning the African Super Cup at the expense of Champions League winners Esperance in February.
