Egypt started on Tuesday preparations for their double header against Togo in the African Nations Cup qualifiers. The Phaaohs will host Togo on 14 November before facing them away three days later. Only 13 local-based players took part in the first training session on Tuesday, with six players from Ahly scheduled to join up with their teammates on Wednesday. Egypt coach Hossam El-Badry will announce his choices of Zamalek players on Thursday, one day after the White Knights play Morocco's Raja in the second leg of the African Champions League semis. Last week, El-Badry called up five foreign-based players for the two games, including winger Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, Ittihad Jeddah defender Ahmed Hegazi, Aston Villa winger Mahmoud 'Trezeguet' Hassan, Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny and Olympiacos striker Ahmed 'Kouka' Hassan. Egypt are third in Group G of the Nations Cup qualifiers with two points after making a disappointing start, having been held to opening draws by Kenya and Comoros. Comoros are leading the group with four points, while Togo lie at the bottom with a single point.
