ENPPI stroll to Confederation Cup last 16 after win over Burundi's Lydia Egyptian side ENPPI go through in the Confederation Cup with a 4-1 home defeat over Lydia LB Academic on Saturday
ENPPI reached the CAF Confederation Cup round of 16 after crushingBurundian side Lydia LB Academic 4-1 in Cairo on Saturday to complete a 5-2 aggregate win. The match was played behind closed doors due to security concerns, with the interior ministry refusing to allow spectators to attend any domestic games following the 1 February Port Said disaster. Ahmed Abdel-Zaher gave the2011 EgyptCup winners, whodominated the entire game, the lead after five minutesand strike partner Ahmed Raouf doubled the advantage in the 37th minute. Raouf scored two more goals in the45 and 74 minutes to complete his hat-trick and send ENPPI to the last 16 as theycontinue their bid to become the firstEgyptian side to win Africa's secondary club competition.
