Historian Noha Abou-Khatwa is the second speaker for the July TYPE talk series 'Ladies of Letters.' Stay tuned for this live talk with Abou-Khatwa on Instagram.
Abou-Khatwa is Adjunct Assistant Professor of Islamic Art and Architecture at the AUC. Her main research interests include the manuscript culture and architecture of the Medieval Muslim world, with a focus on the Mamluk era. She writes about epigraphy, calligraphy and Qur'an manuscripts. She is currently doing research on two prominent 14th century Mamluk calligraphers, and on inscribed Mamluk metalwork.
