Thurs 2, 7-8.30pm:As COVID-19 remains a real health threat impairing our everyday lives, the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) guidelines, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO), have all formulated early information in regards to handling the emerging infection of COVID-19 and preventing its spread. In this AUC School of Business Executive Education's Healthcare Online webinar “COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control” will focus on these guidelines, with reflection on two effective national models; CCHE-57357 and Kasr El Aini, and how they handled the risk and implemented proper IPC measures in reference to standards. The webinar will be led by Professor of Clinical Pathology at Kasr El Aini School of Medicine Amal Sayed and Head of the IPC department at CCHE-57357 Nagwa Khamis.

Featuring Robert Kee, chairman and founder, Operation Hope Foundation (OHF), this webinar will highlight different concepts of stopping fraud and how stopping it is key to ensure that donations and aid will alleviate poverty and give hope to those for whom the donations were intended.

The Egyptian actors Amir Salaheddin, Sarra Al Mokadem, Sherine Hegazy andAshraf Farouk, after participating in a theatrical acting workshop held by the Italian director Gianluca Barbadori,will read some extracts in Arabic of the texts selected this year for the prestigious literary prize Strega. The 12 videos, one for each selected finalist book, represent a good example of Italian contemporary writing for the Arabic-speaking public, ranging from familiar themes to social situations, from intimate descriptions to historical reconstructions.The authors as well are representative of the variety of Italian authors, from the youngest generation of writers to more mature compositions.
The 12 works and authors are: Silvia Ballestra's “New season” (Bompiani, 2019); “The Submerged City” by Marta Barone (Bompiani, 2020); “Fever” by Jonathan Bazzi (Fandango Libri, 2019); “The Measure of Time” by Gianrico Carofiglio (Einaudi, 2019); “Italian Boy” by Gian Arturo Ferrari (Feltrinelli, 2020); “Giovanissimi” by Alessio Forgione (NN Editore, 2020); “Short Story of My Silence” by Giuseppe Lupo (Marsilio, 2019); “Everything asks for Salvation” by Daniele Mencarelli (Mondadori, 2020); “Almarina” by Valeria Parrella (Einaudi, 2019); “Life, Death and Miracles of Bonfiglio Liborio” by Remo Rapino (Minimum fax, 2019); “Il Colibrì by Sandro Veronesi (La Nave di Teseo, 2019); and Gian Mario Villalta's “The Apprentice” (SEM, 2020).
The winner of the Strega Prize will be announced worldwide on 2 July, and the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo will celebrate the victory by posting the winning video.
