Egypt is predicted to see strong winds and heavy dusts in most parts of the country on Monday, which could lead to a sandstorm in some areas on the northwest coast, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said. “Active winds stirring sand and dust” are forecast for the capital Cairo, the Nile Delta region, cities along the Mediterranean coast and the northern part of Upper Egypt, EMA said on its official website. Temperatures in the capital Cairo and the Egypt's second city, Alexandria, will rise by around 5 degrees Celsius on Monday, with highs of 29 degrees and lows of 14-15 degrees. The Red Sea resort cities of Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh will have the same highs, but will be slightly warmer at night with lows of 18 degrees. The Southern and Northern parts of Egypt will be slightly warmer in the morning, with highs of 31 and 32 respectively in the ancient cities of Luxor and Aswan. Lows there will be 15 and 18. The windy weather is expected to continue into Tuesday, leading to the disruption of maritime navigation on Mediterranean Sea.
