CAF Disciplinary Board announced in Monday's meeting in Kigali their sanctions to both clubs, Tunisian Esperance and DR Congolese Mazembe, after the committee examined the documents related to the return leg of the 2010 final of African Champions League last November.
Sanctions for Esperance include a suspension of player Ayman Ben Amor for the next six CAF interclub's matches, and imposed a fine on him of USD 10,000.
Along with financial sanctions totaling USD 52,500, the committee also decided the Tunisian club will play their next two home CAF interclubs matches behind closed doors without spectators due to the repetition of incidents and warnings and reprimands.
Meanwhile, TP Mazembe has been fined USD 5,000 for the irresponsible behavior of the visiting delegation.
CAF Disciplinary Board will also take a decision against the Congolese side regarding the disruption of security arrangements that their delegation caused during said match.
The board also reminded all clubs of the content of CAF circular 183-184, sent to all National Associations, which stipulates that CAF seriously condemns the usage of flares, missiles or any other dangerous objects, and highlight the importance of arranging adequate security plans or else heavy sanctions will be applied.
