Thurs 30, 6pm:What does it mean to be alive? What is our position in the world of alive people? These questions will be raised during the "Night of Ideas", which represents an invitation to keep pace with knowledge and to exchange information and views on the challenges of our time. This call is renewed every year in late January throughout France and the world. The theme chosen this year for the "Night of Ideas" is "What we mean to be alive" and it urges reflection on environmental balances and on the relationship of man to the world. It also calls for the exchange of ideas and views on the questions raised by technological transformations. Perhaps “what we mean to be alive” is action and commitment and giving meaning to our actions and our existence. A round table on What is Africa's expected role in future balances? How can France negotiate with its natural surroundings of animals and plants? features Felwine Sarr and Stephane Duran. (7pm) a round table discussion on How do humanities and literature open up to multiple neighborhoods based on our relationship with animals? And how do we deal with biology in general, far from the illusions of a technically reinforced human being or the ideal society? With keynote speakers: Reem Saad, Noha Fekry, and Mohamed Mbougar Sarr. (The seminars are in French and Arabic, accompanied by simultaneous translation, free admission).
