Daughter of Mubarak-era mogul Hussein Salem to be extradited
Spanish judge orders extradition of business tycoon's daughter to face corruption charges in Egypt

A Spanish court has ordered the extradition of Magda, the daughter of Mubarak-era business tycoon Hussein Salem, according to Egypt's ambassador to Spain, Ayman Zein Eddine.
The verdict was returned a few days after the Spanish government reportedly agreed toextraditeSalem and his son Khaled to Egypt.
Salem, born in 1928, is accused of making illegal profits from Egyptian gas sales to Israel through his major stake in East Mediterranean Gas (EMG), which carried out the exports. Deposed president Hosni Mubarak and his two sons also face charges in the case.
Egyptian opposition have charged that EMG sold gas to Israel at preferential prices, costing Egypt billions of dollars in lost revenue.
Salem is a dual Spanish and Egyptian national.
The mogul's two sons and daughter, who were arrested in Spain last summer, are also accused of money laundering.‎
Egypt had called on Spain to extradite the family in order that they stand trial.
Salem, who fled Egypt on 3 February at the height of last year's 18-day uprising, was arrested in his mansion in Majorca, Spain in June 2011.‎
On Thursday, the Giza Criminal Court convited Salem in absentia to 15 years prison in a separate case for illegally acquiring public property.
This article was amended 6 March 2012. The orginial stated that a Spanish court ordered the extradition of Hussein Salem's wife.
