Egypt flamboyant forward Mohamed Salah is set to travel to Switzerland to undergo medical tests with FC Basel on Thursday ahead of a likely summer move. “The Swiss club sent us an official offer and invited him to visit the club to pass the medicals. It is a step forward in his career and I hope he completes the move,” his coach at Arab Contractors Mohamed Abdel-Samie told Ahram Sport on Monday. According to the club official, a price of 3 million euro has been set to release the international forward this summer. The 20-year old player is seen as Egypt's hottest prospect after leading the U-20 team to the bronze medal in the African Youth Championship 2011 and playing an instrumental role in the qualification of the U-23 team to the Olympic Games for the first time since 1992. An impressive performance that earned him a placein the Pharaohs' senior squad during their lastcamp held in Qatar at the end of February. Salah has been a top target for Egypt's giants Ahly and Zamalek but his dreams are set across the sea. “Basel is my first step to build my career in Europe.
