President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Saturday directed the government to increase its support to people with special needs as part of the state's efforts to boost community engagement. El-Sisi made his directives during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine El-Kabbaj. The meeting took up the ministry's comprehensive strategic vision as well as social protection projects and plans, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said. The president asserted the need to follow governance mechanisms to manage the ministry's activities, calling for establishing an accurate database to serve as a point of reference for improving and sustaining performance in this vital state sector. He also urged the ministry to pay special attention to qualifying its human resources and honing their skills, especially in light the government plan to relocate state institutions to the New Administrative Capital, Rady added. El-Kabbaj posted the president on her ministry's vision, which revolved around three main themes, i.e protection, care and development, to build a social protection network to support poor and limited income families and raise their living standards. She also briefed him on the ministry's ongoing and future projects on that score as well as the efforts afoot to improve its system of care for people with special needs.
