Rain forecast for Cairo over the weekend: Meteorologists

Rain is forecast for Cairo and some other parts of the country over the weekend, with temperatures expected to hit lows of 9 degrees Celsius in the capital.
Cities on the Mediterranean will see heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder on Friday and Saturday, which is expected to "extend to Cairo and the Nile Delta," the Egyptian Meteorologist Authority (EMA) said on its official website.
The coast and some parts of the Delta will also get rain on Sunday, although the capital is expected to remain dry.
Temperatures are forecast at highs of 14-15 degrees and lows of 9 in Cairo and the Nile Delta governorates through Sunday, EMA said in its four-day forecast.
Alexandria is expected to see the same highs, with lows of 10-11 degrees over the weekend.
The popular Red Sea resort cities of Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh will be slightly warmer, with highs of 17 on Friday, and 19 on Saturday and Sunday, and lows of 11.
The northern part of Upper Egypt – which includes the governorates of Minya, Fayoum and Beni Suef – will be the coldest, with lows predicted to hit 6 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.
