Egypt's Tiba 1 satellite launch from a space centre in French Guiana has been postponed for the second time for 24 hours, according to the head of Egyptian Space Agency Mohamed El-Qousy. El-Qousy said Egypt's first telecommunications satellite will be launched on the Ariane 5 rocket from a space centre in French Guiana, near Brazil, on Tuesday at 11:09, Cairo local time. He told the media that the decision to put off the launch on Monday was not due to technical problems, but was rather due to the weather conditions and wind in atmospheric levels at an altitude of 30 kilometres above ground. He stated there were fears that the parts of the missile would be scattered after they were detached during the launch, affecting the local population. The Ariane 5 rocket was initially scheduled to launch last Friday, but the launch was postponed due to a malfunction in the power supply to the ground equipment on the launching platform minutes before the launch.
