Injury sidelines Ahly's midfielder Abdallah El-Said for a month Ahly's prominent midfielder Abdallah El-Said will be available for UAE trip despite his recent injury
Cairo giants Ahly will be without their attacking midfielder Abdallah El-Said for a month after he sustained a muscular injury during Tuesday's morning training session, the club's official website revealed. “The initial scans showed that the player is suffering a thigh muscular tear and that he will not return to training for a month,” club's doctor Ihab Aly explained. “The technical staff decided that El-Said will travel with the rest of his teammates to our training camp in United Arab Emirates,” the doctor added. Domestic football activities have been suspended since the infamous Port Said disaster, which left 74 fans killed and scores injured early this month when thousands of Masry supporters invaded the pitch to confront the visiting Ahly fans following the end of a league game. Ahly's Portuguese coach Manuel Jose, who is already missing injured players Wael Gomaa, Walid Soliman and Dominuque da Silva told chairman Hassan Hamdy on Saturday that he wants the team to play six friendlies before their African Champions League round of 32 match on 23 March. The club's board approved a 10-day training camp in UAE which will include at least two friendly matches. (For more sports news and updates, follow Ahram Online Sports on Twitter:@AO_Sports)
