Egyptian Ambassador to Russia Ehab Nasr and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Michael Bogdanov have briefed African ambassadors and envoys in Moscow on the latest arrangements for the planned Russia-Africa summit, scheduled for October 24 in Sochi. The summit will be co-chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Egyptian counterpart Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi. The Egyptian and Russian diplomats hailed the first-ever Sochi summit as a cornerstone for reinforcing cooperation and developmental ties between Russia and Africa. The summit agenda is expected to include many files, topped by boosting trade, and investments, Nasr said, adding that several deals could be signed to strengthen development efforts in Africa in light of Egypt's current presidency of the African Union.
