EFA postpone Ahly's vs. Arab Contractors game in Egyptian League till end of AFCON

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) postponed on Monday the Egyptian Premier League game between Ahly and Arab Contractors in the 33rd matchday of the season, which was scheduled for Tuesday, to be palyed after the end of the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The EFA sent a formal letter to the two clubs informing them that their match will be played after the end of AFCON, which takes place in Egypt from 21 June to 20 July, without specifying a date.
"The new date of the postponed game will be determined later as the EFA board members will hold a meeting on Monday to draw the final schedule [for the remaining matches] of the competition," the EFA said in their letter to the two clubs.
On Saturday, Ahly management threatened to withdraw from the league if their two remaining matches, which are against the Arab Contractors and Zamalek, were postponed past the start of AFCON, citing the need of the club to prepare properly for the new season.
Ahly's decision followed the EFA's earlier announcement that Ahly's game against Zamalek in the 34th and final matchday of their season was postponed to 28 July.
Ahly currently lead the league table with 74 points from 32 matches, while archrivals Zamalek lie in 3rd place with 66 points, and five games in hands.
