Best Player: Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast) Ageing striker Didier Drogba proved he is still a force to be reckoned with after netting the winner in Sunday's 1-0 victory over Sudan in Group B. He broke the deadlock six minutes before the break with a powerful trademark header following a left-wing cross from Chelsea teammate Salomon Kalou. The 33-year-old, who is hoping to lead the Ivory Coast to their first major honour since 1992, also proved a constant threat to the defence of Sudan. Watch Drogba's goal against Sudan Best Goal: Alain Traore (Burkina Faso) Alain Traore briefly brought Burkina Faso level with Angola via a superb free kick in the 57 minutes, making the score 1-1 after Mateus had put the Angolans in front. He arrowed a free-kick around the Angolan wall and past the wrong-footed and motionless keeper. Angola eventually claimed all three points though, thanks to a goal from former Manchester United striker Manucho. Despite the presence of Manchester City midfielder and African Player of the Year Yaya Toure, Ivorian midfielders lacked spark, struggling to feed attacking trio Didier Drogba, Gervinho and Salomon Kalou. Gervinho was lively but he was guilty of spurning some easy goal-scoring opportunities while Ivory Coast had to thank goalkeeper Boubacar Barry at the other end after he pulled off some impressive saves to thwart a brave Sudan side. In the other Group B match, Angola made use of the skills of their wingers to down Burkina Faso, who matched their opponents for most of the game.
