Ahly's winning run in the Egyptian league continued as the Cairo giants claimed their fourth straight win on Sunday when they defeated Nogoum in a delayed game at El-Salam stadium. International striker Marwan Mohsen opened the scoring in the 30th minutes while winger Moemen Zakareya added the second in stoppage time. The first-half was calm overall as Ahly's attacking players were easily contained by Nogoum defense. Ahly's first threat came on the 26th minute when winger Mohamed Sherif scored a nice goal, but the referee disallowed the goal on offside. Four minutes later, striker Marwan Mohsen received a nice pass from Ahmed El-Sheikh to fire home with a nice chip. In the second half, interim-coach Mohamed Youssef introduced Moroccan striker Walid Azaro at the expense of Mohamed Sherif, who failed to make his presence felt during the first-half. In a typical fashion, Azaro squandered a golden chance five minutes after the break when his nice shot from inside the area went wide. Few minutes later, Ahmed El-Sheikh received a nice cross from Karim Walid but his close-range effort went far of the post. Azaro squandered once more when he failed to control the ball inside the area , allowing Nogoum's keeper to collect easily. With eight minutes remaining to regulation, Midfilder Nasser Maher sent a nice curling shot denied by the bar. The Moroccan striker refused to kill the game when he bizzarely failed to score from a close-range in stoppage time. Late substitute Moemen Zakareya added the second with a nice follow on a rebounded ball from Nogoum defender to score easily from a close-range. Zakareya's goal is the first for the winger with Ahly since last January. With Monday's win, Ahly advanced to the fifth place in the league table with 23 points, 12 points behind leaders Zamalek who played three matches more.
