Qualifying campaign: Angola struggled at the beginning of the campaign but finished in style with three straight victories to top the Group J – that included Kenya, Guinea Bissau and Uganda - with 12 points.
History: Angola appeared five times at CAN. The farthest stage they reached was the quarter finals in the previous two CAN editions, in 2008 and 2010.
Expectations: Drawn in a tough group that includes heavyweights Ivory Coast, Angola will be looking to leapfrog Sudan into the group's second place to advance to the knockout phase. Coach Lito Vidigal still relies on aging stars like Flavio Amado, Andre Makanga and Manucho in addition to the former German junior Rafael Nando to reach a third straight quarter final.
