Official: Masry appoint Hossam Hassan as head coach Twins Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan return to lead Egyptian side Masry after three years away from the Port Said club
Egypt's Premier League club Masry have officially signed former Zamalek and Ismaily coach Hossam Hassan to lead the club until the end of the current season. “Hossam will be our coach until the end of this season. He will be assisted by his twin and football director Ibrahim Hassan,” the Port Said-based club revealed in a statement on its official website without disclosing the financial details. Earlier on Sunday, Masry officials reached a mutual agreement to terminate the contract of their coach Talaat Youssef as a result of the club's recent poor results that left them seventh in the league table with 19 points, 12 behind leaders Harras El-Hodoud. The Hassan twins took charge of Masry in 2007 to rescue the club from relegation before being sacked in 2008 after Ibrahim attacked the referee and clashed with the home crowd during a match at Algerian club JSM Bejaia. In 2008, the former international stars coached Egypt's Ittisalat before leaving in November 2009 to lead Cairo giants Zamalek, where they were relatively successful before being fired after the Whites ended last season runners-up to Ahly despite leading the league for most of the season. The 45-year old twins were suddenly sacked before the current season from their last job at Ismaily only days after signing with the club.
