Mahmoud 'Kahraba' Abdel-Moneam scored twice on Thursday to help Zamalek earn a narrow 2-1 win over Dakhleya in a 'nervy' Egyptian league game at Petro Sports stadium. Ahmed Saed 'Ouka' opened the scoring for Dakhleya in the fourth minute of the game, while Mahmoud 'Kahraba' Abdel-Moneam leveled the score minutes later. With one minute remaining in game time, Kahraba scored the winner, helping his side clinch three precious points. After Zamalek's second goal, the pitch witnessed clashes between the players, as Dakhleya coach Alaa Abdel-Aal was hit with a water ball from Zamalek fans. Abdel-Aal irritated the White Knights fans by lifting a Dakhelya shirt, which has the same red color as Zamalek's archrivals Ahly. A defensive lapse from Zamalek allowed 'Ouka' to score first for Dakhleya four minutes into the game. However, Zamalek responded quickly. After the post denied a nice shot from striker Omar El-Saed in the sixth minute, 'Kahraba' leveled the score four minutes later, firing home easily off a nice pass from forward Youssef Ibrahim. After evening the score, Zamalek players intensified their attacks, but squandered several goal-scoring chances during the rest of the first-half. The second half saw a poor performance from both sides before the level of intensity escalated in the last five minutes. With the aim of scoring the winner, Zamalek players mounted huge pressures on Dakhleya's defense. Kahraba sent a nice shot from inside the area but his effort was denied by the post. In a rare appearance this season, the 84-minute substitute Moustafa Fathi made the difference. With one minute left in regulation, Fathi cut inside before sending a curling shot on the goal. Dakhleya's keeper Mohamed Sobhi slipped the ball before the interference of Zamalek defender Mahmoud Alaa allowed Kahraba to score the winner. With Thursday's win, Zamalek cemented their place on the top of the league table with 29 points, six points ahead of second place Pyramids.
