Tens of activists on Thirsday gave a hero's welcome to injured protester Reda Abdel Azizi upon his arrival at Cairo International Airport from Germany. Abdel Azizi had been seeking treatment in Germany for the injuries he sustained during November's Mohamed Mahmoud Street clashes between protesters and security forces. The 19-year-old was shot in both of his eyes while carrying injured protesters to the field hospitals set up in the adjoining Tahrir Square. Abdel Azizi is not a member of any political party or movement. Abdel Aziz travelled to Germany, at the expense of unknown businesswoman and the German Embassy, to receive treatment but returned home after doctors were unable to restore his sight. Among the activists and prominent revolutionary figures who received Abdel Aziz was Ahmed Harara, who also lost both of his eyes after being shot by security forces on two seperate occasions during the revolution.
