In-form Brazilian winger Keno scored and provided an assist as Pyramids crushed Ittihad of Alexandria 3-0 in the Egyptian Premier League on Friday to give coach Hossam Hassan a winning start. Defender Ahmed Mansour opened the scoring after 13 minutes when his sliding effort from a free-kick struck the keeper's hands and went in. Full-back Ragab Bakkar added the second just past the hour mark with a superb arrowed shot into the bottom corner after latching onto a through pass from Keno. Keno then turned from provider to scorer to wrap up the win on 74 minutes, beating the keeper in a one-on-one with a composed finish. Egypt's all-time leading scorer Hassan enjoyed a winning debut after abruptly leaving Masry, whom he led to a place in the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final, to take charge of the big-spending Saudi-owned club. Pyramids, who are looking to compete for the league title after bolstering their squad with many close-season signings following a takeover by Saudi sports chief Turki Al-Sheikh, moved up to second in the table with 19 points, one behind leaders Zamalek who have a game in hand. They made up for a 2-0 loss to Ismaily in their previous game, which ended their unbeaten start to the season.
