Palestine assumes chairmanship of the Group of 77 and China in 2019

Palestine formally assumed on Thursday the chairmanship of the Group of 77 and China for the year 2019.
Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, who chaired the group for 2018, handed over the chairmanship of the G77 to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas during his speech at the opening of the Group of 77 and China meeting in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
