TP Mazembe suffer shock Champions League elimination after home draw

Five-time winners TP Mazembe of the DR Congo suffered a shock African Champions League elimination following a 1-1 draw at home to Angola's Primeiro de Agosto, who caused an upset to reach the semi-finals on Friday.
Mazembe were firm favourites to advance after holding Primeiro de Agosto to a 0-0 away draw in the first leg and they looked on course to securing a home win when Jackson Muleka fired them ahead after 12 minutes.
Muleka ended a flowing move by smashing the ball into the far top corner but the visitors stunned the home crowd when Lompala Bokamba leveled the score with a sublime free kick on 34 minutes to put his side in the driving seat.
Mazembe could have restored their lead but wasted two penalties either side of the interval, thanks to a couple of superb stops by Primeiro de Agosto keeper Adao Cabaca.
The Angolans held on to progress on the away-goal rule, a shocking result given Mazembe's usual formidable home record.
Mazembe won the last of their five Champions League titles in 2015, equalling the tally of Egyptian giants Zamalek.
Tunisian duo Etoile Sahel and Esperance clash in a mouth-watering quarter-final and holders Wydad Casablanca of Morocco take on Algeria's ES Setif later in the day.
