Ezzedine Choukri Fishere will be at the Diwan bookshop in Zamalek on 10 January to discuss his 2012 Arabic Booker Prize long-listed novel Embrace on Brooklyn Bridge. The novel also appeared on the Ahram Online Bookish list of 2011.
The novel is the fifthby Choukri and the second to appear on the Arabic Booker's long list, followingIntensive Care Unitin 2009. Quite different from other Choukri novels, Embrace on Brooklyn Bridge tackles the topics of identity and belonging among a group of characters in the US heading to a party.
The event will take place at 7pm on Tuesday 10 January.
