Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned on Sunday the terrorist bombing that took place at Kabul airport, leaving 14 people dead and 22 injured.. The bombing took place shortly after Vice President Abdul-Rashid Dostum left the airport following his return home after more than a year in exile in Turkey. "The Egyptian government and people stand with the government and people of Afghanistan in the face of the phenomenon of terrorism," said a statement by the Egyptian foreign ministry. Kabul police spokesman Hashmat Stanekzai said the blast occurred near an airport entrance where supporters had been waiting to greet Dostum as his motorcade passed on its way to the city centre, according to Reuters. The Egyptian ministry's statement expressed sincere condolences to the families of the victims and a wished speedy recovery for the injured. The terrorist group Daesh reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack shortly after the bombing.
