Magdy Boghdady is known to Egyptian audiences mainly through his Boghdady Band, a large ensemble of professional wind musicians who play jazz, Latin American music and 20th Century American wind music, in addition to Egyptian compositions. On Saturday 7 January he will conduct the Cairo Symphony Band, consisting of musicians from the Cairo Symphony Orchestra. The evening will include works by Franz Von Suppe, Andrew Weber, Anderson, khatchatorian, Dvorak, Malcom Arnold, John Williams and Gleen Miller.
