Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola visited Villa on Tuesday as the 30-year-old recovered from surgery on a fractured shin that has left the country's all-time leading goal scorer a doubt to help the World Cup holders defend their European crown in the June 8-July 1 tournament. Valencia striker Roberto Soldado and Sevilla's Alvaro Negredo are leading candidates while the Madrid-based media is also pushing for former international Raul Gonzalez of Schalke.
