Egyptian league champions Ahly were hit on Tuesday with the news that the team's top scorer Walid Azaro won't be available for Thursday's much-anticipated Cairo derby against rivals Zamalek due to injury, while Tunisian left-back will be available for the match. "Azaro is confirmed to miss the derby, suffering from a hamstring strain," read a statement on Ahly's official website. The 22-year old Moroccan striker played just 13 minutes in Sunday's 2-1 league win over Petrojet before being substituted by teammate Marawan Mohsen after picking up the injury. Azaro, the Egyptian Premier League's top scorer with 18 goals, scored the winner in the previous match against Wadi Degla to become the highest scoring foreigner in a single season in the competition's history. Against the Whites, Ahly will be boosted by the return of Tunisian left-back Ali Maaloul, who has recovered from his ankle injury, according to the club's doctor Khaled Mahmoud. Under the guidance of coach Hossam El-Badry, Ahly will start a closed camp on Tuesday, including all the players, amid preparations for the Zamalek test. Ahly, who already secured the league title for the third time in a row with six matches to spare last month, will be hosting Zamalek in the final round of the domestic competition. Zamalek are currently third in the league table with 58 points.
