The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) decided Thursday to fine Ahly and Zamalek after their fans continued to misuse fireworks in football games. Ahly were handed a LE20,000 fine due to their fans behavior during the Red Devils game against ENPPI in November, while Zamalek collected a total of LE70,000 fine for the same reason: LE20,000 for their fans behaviour during Zamalek's game against Smouha in the Egyptian Premier League, and LE50,000 for fans behaviour during Wednesday's 3-1 win over Arab Contractors. The EFA has decided to toughen financial fines instead of playing games behind closed doors after clubs criticised the latter decision.
