Liverpool star Mohamed Salah joined Egypt's camp in Switzerland on Wednesday ahead of Friday's anticipated friendly match against Portugal, amid the Pharaohs preparations for the 2018 World Cup. "Salah arrived from England to join his teammates in the preparatory camp in Zurich," the Egyptian Football Association EFA said via its official Facebook page. "The whole 28-man squad is now available for the two friendly matches against Portugal and Greece," the EFA added. Egypt reached the world's most prestigious tournament, which will kick off in Russia in June, after ending a 28-year old drought. The team held their first training camp in Zurich on Tuesday night in the presence of all the called players except for Salah. The preparatory camp will continue until 28 March, with the team playing two friendlies against Portugal on 23 March and Greece on the 27 March. The 25-year old Salah, who has taken the Premier League by storm since his summer arrival from AS Roma, continued his prolific goal-scoring run, netting four goals in Liverpool's 5-0 hammering of Watford in the Premier League on Saturday. He took his tally to 28 league goals, four clear of Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane at the top of the competition's scoring charts. On 6 March, Argentinean coach Hector Cuper called up 17 foreign-based players for the Switzerland camp, before calling up 11 local-based players for the same camp, ahead of the World Cup in June. Egypt have been placed in Group A of the World Cup along with hosts Russia, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia.
