BERGAMO, Italy, May 30, 2018 (News Wires) - Aston Villa's winger Ahmed Elmohamady has joined Egypt's training camp ahead of Friday's friendly match against Colombia. "The national team will have two training sessions. Twenty eight players will be available as Elmohamady joined his teammates Monday night," a statement on the Egyptian Football Association's (EFA) official facebook page said. Last Friday, Egypt held to a 1-1 draw against hosts Kuwait in the first friendly game of the team's final preparatory camp for the World Cup. Elmohamady and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah did not appear in the game due to commitments with their clubs. Salah is currently the only absentee player, after picking up a shoulder injury in Saturday's UEFA Champions league final that will sideline him for three weeks. On Friday, Hector Cuper's men will take on Colombia in the Italian city of Bergamo, then Belgium in Brussels on 6 June, in the last two warm-up matches. In late March, Egypt lost to Portugal and Greece in two friendly matches held during their first training camp in Switzerland. Egypt will kick off their World Cup campaign on 15 June in Group A against Uruguay, then face hosts Russia on 19 June. Their final group stage match will be against Saudi Arabia on 25 June. On the other side, Colombia and AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca described the Pharaoh as a difficult team even with the absence of key player Mohamed Salah. "We know that Egypt is a tough team, even right now as they're going through a difficult phase without their main player Mohamed Salah," Bacca told the Colombian Football Federation website. Bacca also commented on the recent injury the Liverpool winger sustained during the final UEFA Champions League game, saying: "I hope he recovers from his injury on time for the World Cup, the tournament is waiting for the best players."
