The residents of Cairo's El-Haggana district recently welcomed world-renowned Brazilian footballer Roberto Carlos, who visited the mobile medical clinic there as part the Hepatitis C-Free Egypt by 2020 initiative. The initiative, implemented by Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, aims to eradicate Heptatitis C in Egypt by 2020 by raising awareness and conducting free examinations and distruting treatment. Carlos' visit was supported by the Ministry of Health and Prime Pharma Co., as well as a number of supporting companies and the civil society organizations. During the visit, Carlos was welcomed cordially by local residents who asked to take photos and saluted him. The Brazilian footballer expressed how delighted he is with the visit and with the mobile clinic's efforts, offering his full support for the initiative. Carlos ended his statement with a “long live Egypt” cheer. Egypt's mobile clinics program began with 224 mobile clinics in 17 governorates in an effort to offer health services to the underserved.
