Published in Ahram Online on 04 - 07 - 2017

Brazilian football star Ronaldinho will arrive in Egypt Tuesday evening for a three-day visit to launch his humanitarian organisation, the Ronaldinho Foundation in cooperation with Prime Pharma drug company, and to promote the country's Tour n' Cure medical tourism campaign, according to local media reports.
The foundation aims to provide Hepatitis C treatment for underprivileged patients worldwide, in cooperation with major international donors and institutions, read a statement released by Prime Pharma in early July.
Per the agreement with Prime Pharma, the foundation will be the first to employ a Hepatitis C treatment developed in Egypt in other countries around the world.
The 37-year-old renowed player will visit Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza as well as the North Coast, where he will attend a major celebration to launch the massive project in cooperation with Prime Pharma.
The Tour n' Cure campaign runs combined tourism and Hepatitis C treatment travel packages for tourists visiting Egypt. The campaign also hosted the Barcelona and Argentina football great Lionel Messi in Cairo.
Ronaldinho, who has won World Player of the Year twice as well as two La Liga titles and the 2005/06 Champions League with Barca in five years at the Camp Nou, has not played since his short spell at Fluminense came to an end in September 2015.
This is Ronaldinho's third visit to Egypt, having visited the country in 1997 during the Youth World Cup and in 2007 with his team at the time, FC Barcelona.
Barcelona had been invited to play a match against Egypt's Al-Ahly football club to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Al-Ahly.
Egypt has gained global recognition for fighting Hepatitis C, with the World Health Organisation celebrating World Hepatitis C Day in Cairo in 2015.
