The Egyptian Cultural Centre in Paris will celebrate the birth centenary of the late Nobel laureate Naguib Mahfouz for two weeks starting tomorrow, 8 Dec. The programme starts with a photo exhibition entitled Mahfouz's Birth Centenary in cooperation with Al-Ahram foundation. The journalist Labib El-Seba'ae the Head of the Higher Council of Journalism, will be present. Several Egyptian movies adapted from Mahfouz's novels will be screened including Hunger or and Chit Chat on the Nile, in addition to three short movies inspired by his short stories will be shown: Room Number 12, The Visit and Sultan. Naguib Mahouz was born on 11 December, 1911; he died on 30 August, 2006. He won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1988. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/28753.aspx
