Egypt's Salah scores 14th Premier League goal as Liverpool rout Bournemouth
Published in Ahram Online on 17 - 12 - 2017

Egypt winger Mohamed Salah continued his prolific goal-scoring run, finding the net following a fine individual effort to help Liverpool crush Bournemouth 4-0 in the Premier League on Sunday.
The 25-year-old made it 3-0 one minute before the break when he side-stepped defensive duo Charlie Daniels and Nathan Ake in the area, cut inside and placed a trademark left-foot shot into the bottom corner from close range.
He took his tally to 14 Premier League goals in 18 appearances, going two clear of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane on top of the scorers' chart.
Salah is only behind Lionel Messi (23 goals) and Cristiano Ronaldo (21) in terms of goals scored in all competitions in Europe's top football countries, having netted 20 goals in 26 matches.
Coutinho opened the scoring in the 20th minute by slaloming through the right-hand side of Bournemouth's defence and finding the bottom corner with a composed finish.
Dejan Lovren doubled the lead with a close-range diving header six minutes later and Salah made it 3-0 by beating goalkeeper Asmir Begovic with a neat left-footed shot.
Coutinho crossed for fellow Brazilian Roberto Firmino to head Liverpool's fourth, in the 66th minute.
Liverpool are now unbeaten in nine league matches and have moved up to fourth in the standings, one point ahead of Arsenal, who drop to fifth. Bournemouth have not won in six in the league and remain 16th, one point above the relegation zone.
Liverpool dominated the match and would have won by a greater margin had Coutinho not seen an 11th-minute free-kick hit the inside of the post and rebound across goal. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Danny Ings also struck the post for the visitors in the second half.
Bournemouth were offered a route back into the match with the score at 2-0, but Jermain Defoe's low strike hit the post and ricocheted to safety.
