Zambia played out a 2-2 draw with African champions Cameroon on Saturday in a meaningless affair as Nigeria had already emerged as group winners last month to secure their 2018 World Cup spot. The Indomitable Lions twice came from behind through goals from Andre Anguissa, 31, and Yaya Banana, 90, to cancel out Patson Daka (26 minutes) and Brian Mwila (65) and finish Group B in third place with seven points. The Nigerian Super Eagles topped the "group of death" with 14 points, six ahead of Zambia and seven clear of Cameroon. Algeria, who had a highly disappointing campaign, finished at the bottom with two points. Cameroon coach Hugo Broos faces an uncertain future as reports suggest it may be time to ring the changes. African magazine Jeune Afrique reported that Broos may have had his last game at the helm of Cameroon, whom he led to a stunning victory in the African Nations Cup early this year. The Belgian tactician, who took over in February 2016, has reportedly declined to extend his stay as he has not been paid for four months. Cameroon's FA is expected to decide on Broos' fate soon as they hope to mount a serious challenge for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations that will be held on home soil.
