Tunisia striker Amine Chermiti stressed that he's proud of his team despite their disqualification from the African Cup of Nations. The Eagles of Carthage were held to a 2-2 draw by Cameroon to wave goodbye to the biennial competition on Thursday. The Indomitable Lions came from behind twice to salvage a point and oust Tunisia, but Chermiti believes his side put in a 'praiseworthy performance'. "Even though we bowed out, I'm still proud. We put in a praiseworthy performance against such a combative side like Cameroon," he told Al-Jazeera after the game. "We didn't live up to expectations in the previous couple of games (against Gabon and Zambia) as we were suffering from lack of confidence, but we overcame that problem against Cameroon." Tunisia finished in Group D fourth place after three successive stalemates.
