Egypt's national football team,have kicked-off the final training session in Kampala one day ahead of the anticipated World Cup qualifier against Uganda. The Pharaohs, who are bidding for their first World Cup qualification ticket since 1990, have shown signs of confidence before their only training session in Uganda. The two nations will face-off at Mandela National Stadium on Thursday, five days before the second-leg in Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium. "The players' spirit is great. I can see the confidence in their eyes," the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) chairman told a TV reporter in Kampala airport when the team arrived Wednesday evening. Heavy security measures have been implemented in the Ugandan city before the much-anticipated event. Topping Group E with six points, the Pharaohs are looking for a victory in the Ugandan capital to boost their qualification chances after they defeated Ghana 2-0 and Congo 2-1. In the other camp, Cranes coach Moses Basena, alongside some of his key players including skipper Denis Onyango and striker Farouk Miya, have stated to the press that they are determined to win the home soil three points. The Ugandans are showing big confidence in facing the historic North African team, which combines 15 European-based players, including Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Arsenal's Mohamed Elneny. Uganda, who have never made it to the World Cup, have collected a solitary point from a goalless draw against giants Ghana and a loss to Congo.
