Ahly's new signing Walid Azaro said on Tuesday he is looking for a 'strong start' with his new club, adding he is ready to fight for his place in the starting line-up. The Moroccan striker joined Ahly last month, penning a four-year contract with the Cairo giants. "I am looking for a strong start at Ahly," Azaro told the club's official website on Tuesday. "I hope to help the club win the Arab Championship and the CAF champions League." Ahly, who reached the Champions League quarters after finishing second in their group, will represent Egypt alongside Cairo rivals Zamalek in the upcoming Arab Championship that will take place on home soil from 21 July to 6 August. Azaro said he is aware of the anticipated competition with the team's other strikers, insisting he is ready for the new challenge. Ahly already have strikers Amr Gamal and Marwan Mohsen, who has been out of action since the last Africa Cup of Nations due to a serious knee injury, at their disposal. The club's management is yet to make up its mind over the fate of veteran striker Emad Metab and Ghanaian striker John Antwi, whose one-season loan deal with Maqassa ended this summer. Azaro is one of the hottest prospects in Moroccan football, scoring 12 goals with Difaa El-Jadida last season.
