Egypt's ministry of communications and information technology has released on Wednesday a set of commemorative stamps to mark the historic opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), one of the world's largest cultural projects. The stamps, issued through Egypt Post, feature QR codes for an interactive experience. Minister Amr Talaat said the GEM represents a global cultural landmark that showcases Egypt's rich civilisation and emphasised that the stamps commemorate a milestone in the country's cultural achievements. "These stamps are not just artworks—they are a cultural message highlighting the grandeur of ancient Egyptian heritage and Egypt's role in preserving it through modern technology," he said. Dalia El-Baz, chairperson of Egypt Post, said the stamps highlight the museum's architectural design and unique archaeological treasures. One sheet of five stamps features images of historic statues inside the museum, while a separate set of three stamps showcases the museum's façade along with the GEM logo.
