Tunisia's veteran goalkeeper Aymen Mathlouthi is doubtful for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying opener against Egypt on 11 June as he faces three weeks on the sidelines, Tunisian newspaper Alchourouk reported Saturday. "Mathlouthi will be out of action for three weeks after picking up a muscular injury during Thursday's 3-0 league loss against Esperance," the newspaper said. The 32-year-old is Tunisia's first-choice keeper. He featured in three matches out of four at the 2017 African Cup of Nations finals in Gabon, where Tunisia were eliminated from the quarterfinals following a 2-0 loss to Burkina Faso. He was also the regular keeper in this year's friendly matches against Uganda, Egypt and Cameroon. North African rivals Egypt and Tunisia have been paired together in the Nations Cup qualifiers and will go head to head in the first round of matches alongside Niger and Swaziland in Group J. The winners of the 12 groups will join hosts Cameroon in the tournament finals along with the three best runners-up.
