Published in Ahram Online on 06 - 04 - 2017

Egypt have continued advancing in the FIFA monthly rankings, climbing one place to the 19th position in the April numbers, which were released on Thursday.
The Pharaohs managed to made it into the top 20 in March, after finishing as runners-up in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
The team, who were ranked in the global top tin in 2010 during their golden era after three successive Africa Cup of Nations wins (2006, 2008 and 2010), are advancing in world rankings after their 2017 tournament achievements.
In March Egypt strolled to a 3-0 friendly win over Togo in their first match since the African Nations Cup.
The Pharaohs' next competitive game will be against Tunisia in June in their opening Group J clash of the 2019 Nations Cup qualifiers. The group also includes Niger and Swaziland.
Egypt is still leading the continent in global rankings, ahead of Senegal (30), Cameroon (33), Burkina Faso (35) and Nigeria (40).
